About the products

How are the workbooks, quiz apps, and Udemy courses related?

Each subject in The Pathway — Dosage Calculation, Pharmacology, Clinical Judgment, and Delegation & Prioritization — is offered in three formats. The workbook is the structured study experience, designed for note-taking, working through problems, and building reference material you keep. The quiz app is the practice surface, with hundreds of questions per subject for repeated rehearsal on your phone. The Udemy course is the taught experience, with video instruction that walks you through the reasoning. The three are designed to reinforce each other — students who use all three formats learn the material more deeply than students who use any single format alone.

Do I need to buy all three formats for each subject?

No. Each format works on its own. The workbook stands alone as a complete study resource. The quiz app stands alone as a practice tool. The course stands alone as instruction. The pairing is a recommendation, not a requirement. Start with whichever format matches how you learn best, and add others if you find them useful.

Which subject should I start with?

It depends on where you are in nursing school. If you're in your first semester, Dosage Calculation and Clinical Judgment build the foundation everything else rests on. If you're in your med-surg or specialty courses, Pharmacology and Clinical Judgment will pull the most weight. If you're in your final semester preparing for the NCLEX, all four matter — and Delegation & Prioritization in particular will sharpen your management-of-care thinking. The free study guides are a low-stakes way to sample any subject before committing.

Pricing and purchasing

Where do I buy the workbooks?

All four workbooks are available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats, and free to read on Kindle Unlimited. Direct links to each book are on the Books page.

How are the quiz apps priced?

The apps are freemium. Two of the six question categories are free in every app, with the remaining categories unlocked through a one-time Premium upgrade. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges. Pay once, own it forever, on whichever platform you bought it on.

What's your refund policy?

It depends on where you bought the product. Books purchased through Amazon are subject to Amazon's return policy. Udemy courses are subject to Udemy's 30-day refund policy. App purchases (in-app or otherwise) are handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you bought them. For digital products purchased directly from onlinenursetraining.com — like the upcoming Quick-Start Bundles — we offer a 30-day, no-questions-asked refund. Email support@onlinenursetraining.com and we'll take care of it.

Format and accessibility

Are the workbooks designed to be written in?

Yes. The paperback editions are formatted at 8.5" × 11" with mirror margins specifically so you can write in them — work through dosage calculations, annotate drug class tables, fill in case-study prompts. The Kindle editions are reflowable for comfortable on-screen reading and reference, but the paperbacks are the format students reach for when they're actively studying.

Do the quiz apps work offline?

Yes. Once you've downloaded the app and any updates, the question banks live on your device. You can quiz on a plane, in a basement clinical site, anywhere your phone goes. Your progress syncs the next time you reconnect.

Are the materials NCLEX-aligned?

Yes. Every product in The Pathway is built against the current NCSBN test plan and the Clinical Judgment Measurement Model that underpins Next Generation NCLEX questions. The case-based and select-all-that-apply formats students see in the apps and workbooks mirror the question types they'll encounter on the actual exam.

About the author

Who writes the materials?

Every workbook, quiz question, course script, and study guide is written by Dr. David P. Zapencki, DNP, MSN/Ed, CNE, CCRN — a nurse educator and program chair with over twenty years of experience teaching nursing students. There's no committee, no ghostwriter, no AI generating the content. One educator, one consistent voice, across the entire Pathway. More on the About page.
